STUDENT NAMED SEMIFINALIST IN COCA-COLA SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Michael Kevin Cheezum, a senior at C.D. Hylton High School, has been named a semi-finalist in the 1997-98 Coca-Cola Scholarship Program.

Michael is one of only 1,902 semi-finalist chosen from among nearly 129,000 applicants in this annual competition. On March 1, Coca-Cola will announce the names of 152 finalists. The finalists will be invited to Atlanta, George for interviews to determine the level of their awards. One hundred finalists will be designated as Regional Scholars and will receive $4,000 awards. The remaining fifty-two will be designated s National Scholars and will receive $20,000 awards.
