SCHOOLS EARN HONOR BAND AWARD
Four Prince William County high school bands have earned the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA) Honor Band Award, the highest honor that can be bestowed on a high school band in the Commonwealth.
Gar-Field, C.D. Hylton, Potomac and Woodbridge high schools have received the award, which is only presented to those bands who have earned a Superior rating at both the VBODA Marching Festival and the VBODA District Festival. These four bands were among only thirty-five bands to qualify in Virginia.
The band directors are Melinda McKenzie, Gar-Field; Dennis Brown, Hylton; Gary Zolman, Potomac; and Ed Jones, Woodbridge.
