ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WIN IN “DARE TO DREAM” PROGRAM

Four Prince William County Public School students won computer and educational software programs in Brainstorm USA’s Dare to Dream - Expect to Succeed program.  The Spencer sisters, Jaelith, a fourth grader, and Tamsin, a fifth grader, and Shannon Worley, a kindergartener, will be recognized at a ceremony at Nokesville Elementary School on Tuesday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m.  Jaelith and Tamsin, daughters of Charles and Gretchen Smith of Nokesville, won a computer and forty educational software programs.  Jaelith created a project based on her dream of becoming an artist and sculptor, while her sister Tamsin, who would like to be an archaeologist, created a project on Egyptian artifacts.  Shannon, daughter of Sandra Worley of Nokesville, won five educational software programs for her poster collage on becoming a dancer.

Nathan Ellington, a third grader at Sinclair Elementary School, won five educational software programs.  Nathan, the son of Bernardino and Nelida Sanchez of Manassas, dreams of becoming an architect and used Popsicle sticks to make a model of a home.

The Dare to Dream program awards scholarships, computers and educational software based on competitively judged essays, poems, multi-media presentations and other creative projects submitted by children and accompanied by a letter of support from their parents.
The Prince William County School Board will recognize the students at its meeting on Wednesday, December 18, 2002.
