BEATY NAMED REDSKINS/MODELL’S HIGH SCHOOL COACH OF THE YEAR Brian Beaty, head football coach at Osbourn Park High School, has been named the Washington Redskins/Modell's High School Coach of the Year. Previously, he was named the Coach of the Week on October 28, 2002. Before being named Head Coach at Osbourn Park two years ago, Beaty coached at Stonewall Jackson High School for over three years. A 1979 graduate of Woodbridge Senior High School, he served as their Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for 13 years. The award is based on the coach's continuing commitment towards promoting youth football, developing motivated student-athletes, his overall community involvement, and overall team performance and record. Beaty received a $2,000 donation from NFL Charities and the Redskins to go towards Osbourn Park’s football program. He also received a framed certificate signed by NFL commissioner Paul Tagliabue, Redskins Head Coach Steve Spurrier, and NFL Director of Football Gene Washington. ### |
