Debra Cargill, Lead ESL teacher with the Adult Education Department of Prince William County Public Schools, received the Virginia Adult Excellence in Teaching Award at the Twelfth Annual Jeannie P. Baliles Literacy Awards and the Virginia Excellence in Adult Education Awards Luncheon.  The presentation was held at the Marriott Richmond on November 28, 2000.  The First Lady of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Roxane Gilmore, and
Jo Lynn DeMary, Superintendent of Public Instruction, Virginia Department of Education, presented the award to Cargill.   Cargill was also recognized at the December 20, 1999, School Board Meeting.  Bette Sneed, Adult Education Coordinator, nominated her for the award.
