SCHOOL DIVISION EARNS SIXTH CONSECUTIVE BUDGET AWARD

For the sixth consecutive year, the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International has recognized Prince William County Public Schools for “excellence in the preparation and issuance of its school system budget.”

Prince William County Public Schools’ budget is prepared under the supervision of Associate Superintendent for Management Robert Ferrebee, Director of Finance David Cline, and Supervisor of Budget Robert Horwath.

The school division’s 2001/2002 annual budget document earned the Association’s prestigious Meritorious Budget Award.  The Meritorious Budget Awards Program was designed by ASBO and school business management professionals to enable school business administrators to achieve a standard of excellence in budget presentation.  The program helps school systems build a solid foundation in the skills of developing, analyzing, and presenting a budget.  The award is only conferred on school systems that have met or exceed the program criteria.  No other organization or award program is specifically designed to enhance school budgeting and honor a school system for a job well done.

ASBO, founded in 1910, is a professional association of more than 6,000 members that provides programs and services to promote the highest standards of school business management practices, professional growth, and the effective use of educational resources.
