The Virginia General Assembly approved a Resolution honoring Cynthia Baird, a mathematics teacher at Brentsville District High School, for being selected as the recipient of the Milken Family Foundation National Educator Award.  As the recipient of this award, called the “Oscar of Teaching,” Baird receives a $25,000 prize from the Milken Family Foundation.
On behalf of the Virginia General Assembly, Senator Charles J. Colgan, representing the 29th District of Virginia, and Delegate Harry Parrish, representing the 50th House District of Virginia, presented the General Assembly Resolution to Baird at the Prince William County School Board Meeting on March 20.
