WASHINGTON POST CONTRIBUTES $1,000 TO EDUCATION FOUNDATION

The Washington Post has contributed $1,000 to the Prince William County Public Schools Education Foundation in honor of Michael Campbell, business partnerships coordinator for the county schools.  Virginia Rodriguez, Director of Public Relations for the Washington Post, presented the donation at Campbell’s retirement party held on Wednesday, June 20.

Campbell is retiring after 30 years with the school division as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.  He left his position as principal of Potomac High School in 1998 to become business partnerships coordinator.  In that role, he served as liaison with the business community and was Project Director on a grant of $562,221 for Partnership Prince William, a coalition of the school division, the Education Foundation, and the Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce that brings businesses and schools together for mutual benefit.

Many of Campbell’s colleagues and local businesses feted him at the retirement party, held at the School Board administration building at Independent Hill.  Businesses and/or individuals sponsoring this event were Maria and Maury Paslick of SAI Engineering, Deborah Johnson of Dominion Resource Services, Inc., Kathy Waters of Compton and Duling, Mary Gentry and Ed Lewis of Lockheed Martin, Bill Moss of Potomac Hospital, Don Rainville of Universal Dynamics, Ken Russman of E-Business Stor.com, Inc. and Chris Bergstrom of Cardinal Bank.
