LOCAL STUDENT WINS VICA STATE AUTO COMPETITION

Josh Stout, a senior at C. D. Hylton High School and a third-year automotive technology student, won first place in the Vocational Industrial Clubs of America state automotive technology competition in Roanoke, Virginia. Josh was one of 15 district champions competing, and after four hours of competition, he finished first in the state. He will be going to Kansas City, Kansas, this month for the national finals. Ed Stevens is Josh's teacher.
The automotive technology program is a three-year program that begins at the sophomore level. Students must apply to enter the program. Students from Hylton, Forest Park, Woodbridge, Gar-Field, or Potomac are eligible to apply.
