EMPLOYEES RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE

Thirty-four individual Prince William County Public School employees, three departments, two schools, and seventeen teams of employees were recognized by the School Board at the ninth annual Staff Recognition Awards ceremony held on Tuesday, May 24 at Freedom High School. The awards recognize and promote excellence in the school division. The awards are presented in three categories: Courage, awarded to an individual who has performed well despite overcoming a major obstacle or for his or her heroic action; Achievement, awarded for a specific accomplishment; and Performance, awarded to employees, teams, departments, or schools for outstanding performance over a period of time.

The Courage Award was presented to James Addington, Bull Run Middle School; Mark Arnett, Bull Run Middle School; Andrea Felder, Rippon Middle School; Julie Hurst, Henderson Elementary School; Barbara Minner, Penn Elementary School; Terri Schuler, Bull Run Middle School; and Susan Wessolleck, Rippon Middle School. William G. Bixby, Bull Run Middle School, received the Achievement Award.

Recipients of the Individual Performance Award were Kerri Bass, King Elementary School; Andrea Bechberger, Benton Middle School; Susan Bonekemper, Penn Elementary School; Donna Butwill, C.D. Hylton High School; Kathe Carney, Neabsco Elementary School; Chris Carroll, Mary F. Williams Elementary School; Louisa Condori, Old Bridge Elementary School; Kelly Cox, McAuliffe Elementary School; Melvin Goodwyn, Woodbridge High School; Carolyn Gregg, Department of Curriculum and Staff Development; Fred Held, Rippon Middle School; and John Hince, Marsteller Middle School.

Also receiving the Individual Performance Award were Lesley Johnson, Potomac Senior High School; Paulette Jones, Gar-Field High School; Robert Moore, Battlefield High School; Manuel Rivera, Transportation Department; Karen Roth, Antietam Elementary School; Rita Santiago, Minnieville Elementary School; Vickie Short, Supply Services Department; Graham Spencer, Mary F. Williams and Suella Gilbert Ellis Elementary Schools; William Stearns, Potomac Senior High School; Holly Vile, Benton Middle School; David C.
