Milton Johns and his wife Shellie have resided in Prince William County since 1991. Mr. Johns is the father of two, Caitlin, a 2008 graduate of Battlefield High School and currently a student at Radford University, and Wyatt, a student at Glenkirk Elementary School.
Mr. Johns is an attorney and has spent over 20 years in the national defense industry. He currently works for ITT Corporation, Advanced Engineering and Sciences, as a department manager. His private law practice is associated with Cuccinelli & Day, PLLC in Fairfax, VA. He is also a former adjunct professor of business law at Strayer University in Woodbridge, Virginia and of legal research and writing at George Mason University School of Law.
A graduate of George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, he earned a master’s degree from that school in security policy studies. His Juris Doctorate was awarded by the George Mason University School of Law with high honors.
Before taking office as school board Chairman at Large in January 2008, Mr. Johns served as the Brentsville District Representative to the Prince William County School Board from January 2004 through December 2007. He served as vice chairman of the Prince William County School Board from January 2004 through December 2004.
Prior to running for the School Board, Mr. Johns served as the Brentsville District Representative to the Prince William County Housing Advisory Board. He is a member and past officer of the Knights of Columbus and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He has volunteered as corporate counsel for the organization that presents the Manassas St. Patrick’s day parade and as a stroke and turn judge for the Prince William Swim League.
Mr. Johns was awarded the Aeronautical Merit Cross, second class, by the government of Spain in 1995. He is published in fiction and nonfiction.
