A father of nine, Grant Lattin has observed our school division from a parent's perspective since his family arrived in Prince William County in 1991.
Thus far, five of his children have graduated from Woodbridge Senior
High School, while one graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for
Science and Technology. One child currently attends
Thomas Jefferson High School, and the youngest is at
Lake Ridge Middle School.
From 1998 to 2001, Mr. Lattin gained additional insight into the educational process in Prince William County as a fifth grade teacher at Antietam Elementary School.
A graduate of Portland State University with a B.S. in Administration of Justice, Mr. Lattin earned a M.Ed. in elementary education from Marymount University and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Oregon Law School.
Mr. Lattin served more than twenty years in the United States Marine
Corps as an artillery and JAG officer. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel
in 1995. He is currently employed as an attorney for the Department of the Navy.
Mr. Lattin served on the Advisory Council at Antietam Elementary School, as a science
fair judge and a church administrator and teacher, as well as a committee
chair for The Bar Association of the District of Columbia. He was awarded
the Navy-Marine Corps Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards)
and two Certificates of Appreciation from the Bar Association.
Mr. Lattin, who represents the Occoquan District, resides in Lake Ridge with his wife, Bobbie, and family.
