PWCS Intranet Employee Self Serve Report Cards Electronic Registrar Online Groupwise Department of Education - Teachers The U.S. Department of Education (DOE) launched a Web site especially for teachers. Teachers can send questions directly to Secretary Spellings; find over 40,000 lesson ideas and instructional materials; obtain teaching resources for history, arts, reading, science, and math; access online teacher training opportunities; learn about the No Child Left Behind law and how it affects teachers and students; access DOE grants; and view a wealth of other information. Funding Option for Teacher Projects According to the Virginia Department of Education, Virginia public school teachers have a new option for funding projects that engage students in active learning. Teachers across the Commonwealth now have the opportunity to participate by registering and submitting requests, from basic learning materials like books, calculators, and beakers to cutting-edge technologies like laptops and LCD projectors, at www.DonorsChoose.org/VA. Individuals across the country may then browse the requests and fund projects of their choosing. Once a project is fully funded, DonorsChoose.org ships supplies or materials directly to the school. A majority of projects require funding of $450 or less and are fully funded within 60 days. First-time users should click on “Teachers: Submit Proposals Here” (located on the blackboard to the left of the image of the children), register, and then follow the instructions to submit proposals.
