Hello! My name is Mrs. Emily Sandoval and I am the learning disabilities teacher at Belmont
Elementary. I can’t tell you how excited I am for this school year! Belmont is a great school for all
kids, including children with disabilities.
At Belmont, the achievement of ALL students is important. In the learning disabilities program,
your child will receive the unique support he or she needs in order to be the most successful.
Although students with learning disabilities face challenges because they learn differently than
others, they also have many strengths to share.
My approach to teaching students with learning disabilities is to remediate weaknesses, capitalize on
strengths, and hopefully, improve children’s self-esteem by helping them see just how much they
are really capable of and how valuable they are in both the school and the world.
