6th Grade Science Fair
September 2007: Learn Science Process Skills and the Scientific Method in the classroom. Produce Science Fair folder in the classroom and choose a category for study.
October 2007: Begin researching your topic on-line, in science books, or through newspapers or magazine articles. Record research on note cards and place information in folder.
November 2007: Write a two page research report that is typed and double spaced and is based on the research that you found in October. You should include 3 sources of information.
December 2007: Write your hypothesis based on the research you found in November.
December 2007 and January 2008: Plan and write your procedures for an experiment. Conduct your experiment at least three times.
January 2008: Make observations about your experiment, collect data, and record results. Organize your data on a table, graph, and/or chart. Analyze your results and state your conclusion.
February 2008: Type and double space your abstract
March 2008: Prepare your exhibit and deliver your class presentation. Students with a fair worthy project will be invited to attend the school wide fair scheduled for April 9, 2008.
