LD Resource Classroom Discipline
Every student deserves to learn and grow in a positive and nurturing environment, and because of this reason, a
classroom discipline plan has been developed for the resource room. This discipline plan will allow your child
to make good decisions regarding his/her behavior in class. This plan will explain the rules, positive reinforcement,
and consequences used.
Classroom Rules:
· Be kind
· Listen carefully and follow directions
· Work hard and stay on task
Positive and appropriate behavior will be reinforced with verbal praise, positive phone calls and notes home, and
a daily sticker chart that lists each of these rules. The students will also be able to earn stickers towards
prizes.
Discipline:
With every negative behavior, I will try to do my best to do the following three actions:
1. Label the behavior to the student
2. Redirect the student
3. Consequence
Labeling and redirecting the student is his/her warning. After that warning, consequences will have to come into
place. If the student chooses to continue the negative behavior after receiving a warning, the following steps
will be taken:
1. Loss of a sticker on his/her sticker chart
2. Phone call home
For severe offenses and disruptions, the student will be sent to the office.
Please review this with your child. Please keep in mind that this discipline plan is in addition to the Bristow
Run Elementary school wide discipline plan.
