| MARKETING EDUCATION | ||
Students learn the functions involved in the marketing of goods and services and achieve the competencies necessary for successful marketing employment. The development of social and economic competencies in conjunction with marketing competencies in the areas of personal selling, advertising, visual merchandising, physical distribution, purchasing, market planning, product/service technology, and marketing mathematics enable students to become well-rounded marketing employees who contribute to the success of marketing businesses. During the school year, students who elect the two-credit option will combine classroom instruction with a minimum of 397 hours of continuous, supervised on-the-job training in a local marketing business. All activities are planned, supervised, and documented by the marketing education teacher-coordinator. |
