HEARING IMPAIRED PROGRAM 

Coles Elementary School is the center-based program for Prince William County Schools and serves pre-school through 5^th grade Hearing Impaired students.  This program uses a Total Communication approach which incorporates both voice and sign language.  Students’ individual needs are met through small group instruction as well as inclusion into general education classrooms.  Certified sign language educational interpreters are provided to facilitate communication for the Hearing Impaired students when in general education settings.  General educators, special educators, and sign language educational interpreters all work collaboratively to help students maximize their opportunities for success.
