Greetings from Mrs. Farrior, Gifted Resource Teacher

START/SIGNET

We are off to a great year, with many activities planned to challenge your child throughout the year.

A Quick Glance at START……………..

First Grade

We are off on a Geometric Adventure; Geofinity!  Students will take a trip to a new planet called Geo.  While there, they will learn the Geolanguage, build a spaceship using angles and so much more!  Stay tuned for more information as we blast off into Geofinity!

Second Grade

Who took a bite out of the candy?  Sticky fingers have been found on the broken aquarium glass.  Wet footprints lead to the open window. Get ready as we observe, classify, compare, use numbers, measure, predict, interpret data, and draw inferences to become a crime solver.  Keep your eyes and ears opened to find out, “Who dunnit?”.

Third Grade

It’s time for the Fall Festival Fun House!  In this unit students will: make a map or plan according to a given set of data and control three variables (time, measurement, and weight) while creating a map or plan.  At the end of the unit, students will have a fun house floor plan that incorporates stated design requirements.  Check back later for more updates!

Fourth and Fifth Grade

Everybody loves a good mystery!  The Felix Mystery goes one step further to provide the makings of a GREAT Mystery!  During this unit, mystery and investigation is combined in a highly exciting and engaging educational experience.  The Felix Mystery crosses the curriculum in science, language arts/writing, and math.  Students will use problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and creative thinking to find out what really happened to Felix.  Updates will be posted periodically on the board in front of our classroom, (room 110) beginning the week of October 22.
