GOVERNOR'S PHYSICAL FITNESS AWARDS PROGRAM

This program's purpose is to provide incentive and the opportunity to develop a healthy habit of daily activities for all Prince William County School employees. This program supports the Wellness Policy that was adopted by the PWC School Board in June of 2006. Click here for activity log.

Please send completed logs to Fred Milbert's office. Make sure that you include your school/department on the form. Forms are due to Fred Milbert no later than April 30, 2008. If you choose to send your form directly to Richmond, please contact our office via email at milberfa@pwcs.edu with the date you submitted the form.


ALL COUNTY PHYSICAL EDUCATION EXPO
This year, the Middle School and High School All County Physical Education Expo will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Freedom High School. The elementary event will take place on Tuesday, June 3, 2008 with a rain date of June 5 at Stonewall Jackson High School.

The 2008 All County Physical Education Expo is a demonstration of the Virginia state standardized physical fitness tests and a showcase of the best teaching practices in the department of physical education. There will be several community partners in attendance providing interactive activity stations. Select students will be recognized for their efforts in the following qualifying criteria: top recorded fitness scores, passing above average on ALL fitness tests, demonstrations of exceptional efforts, leadership and understanding of advanced PE program concepts.


NATIONAL PHYSICAL EDUCTION AND SPORT WEEK

National Physical Fitness and Sports Month is an annual observance held each May to emphasize the value of physical fitness and sport education and to encourage public support for quality physical education programs. National Physical Fitness and Sports Month is sponsored by the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education.

Each school is encouraged to plan activities to recognize the contribution of physical education and sports to the students in Prince William County Schools.
