Using MS Paint Program

REDUCE SIZE AND CROP PHOTOS

• Select START / PROGRAMS / ACCESSORIES / PAINT

• Select FILE - Open graphic file

• Select IMAGE - Stretch/Skew

• Enter a percentage for reducing the size

• To Crop the photo: Select EDIT - Copy selection of the photo you want to crop

• Select FILE - New

• Paste into the new graphic.

• Move the outside boundaries of the background to match the size of the graphic.

• FILE - Save as a JPEG 

OTHER INFORMATION

• Keep the graphics on web pages as small in file size as possible. Reducing them in a graphic editor such as Windows Paint will help. If you reduce the display size of the graphic in the html document but not in a graphic editor, the actual graphic file size will still be as large as the original graphic.

• When saving graphic files, do not use empty spaces in the file names.
