I am so excited to be the principal at King Elementary. This is such a fantastic school and a
wonderful place to learn. This is my third year as principal at King, but I was the assistant principal
at Mullen Elementary for almost 4 years prior to that. Before I was an administrator, I was a
special education teacher and a fourth grade teacher.
Outside of school I am a wife and mommy. I have been married for 7 years and have a
wonderful daughter. Libby turned three in April and she is busy! She is incredibly fun and is the
highlight of my days.
Being the leader of our school has got to be the best job ever! I absolutely love what I do …
even on the days that are really busy and hectic. The first day of school is one of my favorite
times of year. Everyone is so excited to come back to school, especially the parents. I feel so
strongly that you have to have a passion for children and a love of learning if you are going to
be in education. I can firmly say, at King, we are overflowing with enthusiasm. Your child will be
challenged, cared about, and held as accountable for their actions as if they were our own.
I encourage you to get involved in any way that you can. If you have the opportunity to be a
part of our Rainbow Recruits program (our volunteers), we would greatly appreciate your time
and talents. If you are willing to join our PTO, I will be so grateful because we can do so much
more for our children when we work together. Our advisory council is looking for parents who
want to be a part of the administrative aspect of our school. There we work on our Annual
School Plan and make budgetary decisions that will support our plan.
Again, welcome back or welcome to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School. We are so
happy to have you be a part of our school family. It is going to be a wildly fantastic year!
