 Talks with students individually & in small groups
 Works with teachers & other school specialists
 Meets with parents
 Visits classrooms & teaches guidance lessons
 Helps parents and students make use of community resources
 Organizes and implements special programs, events & assemblies
 Supports the school during a crisis in the school community

Students may be referred for counseling in different ways:

by their parent (call 703-590-1616)
*
by their teacher
*
by the administration and/or Child Study Committee
*
by themselves

(Each classroom has a supply of self-referral forms
which students may complete ).

Parental permission is required for students to see
the counselor on an on-going basis for the same issue.


Written permission is required for
participation in small group counseling sessions.
