What do you know about the real life of Jackie Robinson?
Like our main character, Shirley, he had many hardships
to overcome before he became the famous athlete we know.
See how much you can find out about our baseball hero,
then you will be writing an essay.
The Task:
Writing a Compare Contrast Essay
§
You will visit a website on Jackie Robinson and read the
article about Jackie Robinson's life. Using the compare
and contrast table, you will organize information about
Jackie Robinson and Shirley Temple Wong and their
feelings each of them expressed when they were
experiencing their hardships when they were in New York.
§
You will then take the information from your
compare/contrast table and write a one-page paper
comparing the fictional Shirley with the actual Jackie
Robinson.
