THE SCIENTIFIC METHOD


The individual science project has standard expectations.  They are:
 

  1. Researching a selected topic

    2.  
  2. Designing an experiment to answer a scientific problem

    3.  
  3. Determining a hypothesis for the problem

    4.  
  4. Maintaining a scientist's data notebook

    5.  
  5. Completing a formal written report that includes the problem, purpose, background research, hypothesis, procedure, materials, results, conclusions and a bibliography

    6.  
  6. Making a background display of required information including an abstract

    7.  
  7. Orally presenting the project to the class
