Those Yellow Flashing School Lights
During March 29–April 5, Prince William County Public School buildings will be closed for spring break for students and teachers. Motorists will notice that the flashing school lights on the approach to schools will be operating on a normal schedule.
Lights are programmed to operate automatically and are not reprogrammed during school breaks. They must be manually adjusted by going to each location and it would take almost a week to get to each one; by that time they would need to be reset again, according to Associate Superintendent for Finance and Support Services, Dave Cline. This applies to other school breaks and holidays as well. “We trust that motorists, especially Prince William County citizens, will understand that resources are allocated where they will be most effective and according to School Board priorities,” he said.
