Committees

Porter relies on the commitment and involvement of our dedicated parents.  The information on this page lists the committees and organizations where parental participation is a necessary component to the success of Porter.  Not only do these committees and organizations contribute to the success of your child's school, they offer an additional opportunity to contribute volunteer hours.  We welcome any ideas you may have for other committees.  Please send an email to the Suggestion Box.  When additional Committees are created we will post them here.

Parent/Teacher Organization

Porter will have a parent and teacher organization. This organization is for those parents who want to get involved with their child's learning. Please join this organization each year. Meetings will be held monthly. Please visit the website for times and dates. We strongly encourage parent involvement.

Porter Advisory Council (PAC)

The PAC is an advisory group to the principal; it is extremely active. In this capacity, the members assist with the School's Improvement Plan and budget.  The advisory committee is selected by a lottery. The members represent all communities of students attending Porter.  If you are interested in being on PAC, please write to the Principal and let her know.  Some members are rotated on a yearly basis.

Uniform Committee

The Uniform Committee develops the guidelines for the Uniform Policy.
