Parent Expectations

Porter parents are EXPECTED to:

  • Participate in 10 hours of school related activities for each child enrolled at Porter (parent workshops, mentoring, volunteer programs, PTCO/PTO, or advisory).
  • Support the Prince William County Public Schools Code of Behavior.
  • Support the Porter Code of Conduct, policies, and academic standards.
  • Reinforce appropriate behavior standards, study habits, and good attendance.
  • Promote self-esteem, self-respect and self-empowerment.
     

Student Expectations

Porter Students are EXPECTED to:

  • Strive for academic success.

  • Wear the designated Porter Uniform daily.

  • Participate in school or community service projects each year in accordance with the Student Volunteer Program

  • Follow the Prince William County Public Schools Code of Behavior.

  • Follow the Porter Code of Conduct, policies and maintain outstanding conduct and work habits.

  • Maintain good attendance, which includes lack of tardiness.

  • Successfully complete all prerequisites before enrolling.

Parent Involvement

Important communication from the Principal and teachers will be sent home on Wednesdays in the school “Patriot” folder. Please be sure to check your child’s folder every Wednesday.
