ACTS Volunteer Activity: SCA Officers and other Potomac View students volunteered at the local ACTS Food Bank on Saturday, November 3, 2007. We had a huge group: over thirty fourth and fifth grade students spent their day stuffing bags for Operation Turkey, a program which allows families the items necessary for a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. With the help of parent volunteers, willing siblings, and Potomac View staff, we managed to stuff over 50 bags for local families! The kids did truly amazing work. Thanks to everyone who came - parents, staff, and the especially the students! What a great way to get involved in the community! Great job fourth and fifth grade! |

The PVES volunteers helped over
50 local families have the food they need for a traditional Thanksgiving
meal... pumpkin pie and all! We all had to work together to make sure the right foods got in the bags... Be careful guys! Those bags got awfully heavy by the end! |
