4. Rustic Way Help - Please be sure to walk your children across Rustic Way if you are picking them up or dropping them off there. Too many students dart between the cars and the crossing guards and I am worried someone will get hurt.

5. Car Riders–  In the morning - please help us keep our car lines moving in the morning by letting your children out of the car at the bottom of the hill where the side walk starts. Also please have your child exit from the right side of the car so they won’t be in the street. In the afternoon - Please make sure you get a car rider number to help speed up pick up .

6. HELP NEEDED at the BRISTOW RUN WELCOME TABLE - If you have 3-4 hours to spare, either in the morning or afternoon, you will find working at the Welcome Table to be a great place to greet and meet visitors as they enter the school. To ensure the safety and security of all our students, the most important purpose of the Welcome Table is the screening of all visitors.  Please contact the office 703-753-7741 and sign up. Thank you.

7. Notes from the Nurse - Welcome back to School!  I am excited about the upcoming school year and want to insure that your children have a happy and healthy learning environment at Bristow Run Elementary.  If you have any concerns about your child - please call or email me at any time!  The Clinic has a website which can be accessed from the Bristow Run Home Page or at:  http://teacherweb.com/VA/BristowRunElementary/Madigan  Here you’ll find health information, PWCS Regulations and Forms, and clinic announcements. MEDICATIONS AT SCHOOL  --   If you need to send medication to school, it must be kept in the school clinic and a Medication Authorization Form should be on file. This includes over the counter medications such as Tylenol, Ibuprophen, and cough drops.  Students may not carry any medications on their person at school.  Please pick up the proper form in the Clinic or use the links on the Forms and Regulations page of the Clinic website to access the medication form. The form must be filled out completely and brought to school with the medication. Parents must deliver the medication to school. Thank you Nurse Colleen Madigan

8. Nominate your child’s teacher -  Would you like to nominate your child’s teacher from last year for an Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award? If so, please contact me to obtain a nomination packet. All nominations packets must be postmarked by December 15, 2008.
