The library would like to wish everyone a relaxing and fun-filled summer that includes lots of pleasure reading. Remember to look for the summer reading lists and the PWC Public Library brochures that will be sent home with report cards. Happy reading, and see you in September!

GRADE LEVEL CHECKOUT POLICY

Kindergarten students may have 1 book at a time. Grades 1-2 may have 2 books at a time.

Grades 3-5 may have 3 books at a time. Students may only visit the library 1 time each day. If you choose books that are too easy for you, you will still need to wait until the next day to select a new book. Try to make wise choices! All books are checked out to students for a two week period.

If you need the book longer than 14 days, you may renew the         book 1 time.

If any book is overdue, no other books may be checked out until the overdue book is returned. If it was lost, it must be paid for.

Library books cost a lot of money. Please treat them responsibly. This means keep them away from food, drink, and young children. They should leave school in your backpack. They need to be away from water bottles and juice boxes that can damage books.

If you tear a page, DO NOT try to fix it yourself. We have special tape and special ways to repair the pages.

All damaged books must be paid for before any further checkouts are allowed. Library books belong to everyone, and we must treat them with care. Be a responsible Springwoods Library citizen!

The Accelerated Reader Program is a computer based reading recall and comprehension program. Students read a book and then take a computer test of five or ten questions. The results take into consideration the reading level of the book (as determined by Accelerated Reader) and the number of questions correct. At Springwoods we do not give prizes for points earned, but instead stress the joy of reading and the intrinsic reward of a job well done. Accelerated Reader is available to grades 2-5.
