"Hola!" "Salaam alaikom" "Bon jour!" Welcome to the ESOL homepage. ESOL stands for "English to Speakers of Other Languages" and that is what the ESOL teachers teach. Our students come from many countries although a lot of our students were born right here in the USA. Many students come from Latin American countries such as EL Salvador, Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, where the people speak-you guessed it!- Spanish. At least 1 in 4 students in our school hears Spanish at home. There are several other languages represented here, too, including Urdu, Farsi, French, Korean, and Russian.

Students who don't know English very well take ESOL classes. There they learn how to speak English and read and write it, too! Not only that, they get extra help in learning math, social studies, and science in their new language. We are happy to help newcomers feel welcome and at home in their new world. "Hola! --¡Salaam alaikom! --¡Bon jour!" Bienvenidos a nuestra página web. ESOL quiere decir ‘inglés para hablantes de otros idiomas’ y este idioma es lo que enseñan los maestros de inglés. Nuestros estudiantes vienen de muchos países a pesar del hecho que muchos de ellos han nacidos aquí en los Estados Unidos. Muchos más vienen de países latinoamericanos como El Salvador, México, Guatemala y Honduras donde la gente habla—¡Ustedes lo adivinaron!—español. Al menos 1 de cada 4 estudiantes en nuestra escuela está expuesto al español en casa. Hay various otros idiomas representados aquí también, incluyendo urdu, farsi, francés, coreano, y ruso.

Los estudiantes que no hablan inglés muy bien lo estudian aquí. En estas clases aprenden a hablar, leer y escribir inglés. Reciben también ayuda adicional en estudiar las matemáticas, estudios sociales, y las ciencias naturales en su nuevo idioma. Estamos orgullosos de ayudar a que los recién llegados se sientan bienvenidos y cómodos en su mundo nuevo. ‘¡Encantados de conocerles!’
