The PTO welcomes the start of a great year for the 2008-2009 school year and I look forward to achieving 100 percent participation from parents and teachers. We have a lot of great initiatives planned for the year and we look forward to your input. The slate of officers for the new year are President-Makeeba Lucas, Vice-President-Cheryl Downing, Treasurer-Bobbi Shoop, and Membership-Holly Wilkins. We are currently looking for someone to serve as Secretary. The first PTO meeting will be Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Triangle Elementary in the library. Our meetings will run for 1 hour and will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. and will end before 7:30 p.m. We would like to remind you to turn in your Lavenders Fundraiser by October 8th. All funds raised go directly into the school to benefit your child's classroom or specials. The PTO's goal this year is to raise enough money to purchase/install as many smart boards as possible to enhance the overall quality of education for each student in Triangle Elementary. The estimated price for these smart boards and installation are $3,200 - $3,500 but with everyone's participation we can make this happen. This year the PTO is offering opportunities for corporate sponsorships and for individuals to make tax-deductible contributions ranging from $1.00 to the max that you would like to contribute. Box Tops for education is back save those box tops and send them in with your child this is another way to participate in earning equipment and needed supplies for our school. October 20 - 31 we will be launching our new Spirit Wear designs, so let us show our school spirit by purchasing some Spirit Wear Apparel.
