Todd Erickson was appointed an Elementary School Associate Superintendent in July 2008. From 1987 to 1998, he taught elementary school in Fairfax County and was an assistant principal there until 2001. He came to PWCS in 2001 as Principal of Occoquan Elementary School. He has led Occoquan, a Virginia Title I recognized school, to gains of 28.5 percent passing rate on Virginia Standards of Learning tests. Occoquan has been a School of Excellence for four years.

Mr. Erickson holds a bachelor’s degree in education and a master’s degree in educational administration from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Diana Lambert-Aikens began her career in Prince William County Schools as a Learning Disabilities Teacher at Kilby Elementary. During her tenure with PWCS, she was Assistant Principal at Occoquan Elementary and Potomac View Elementary Schools, and served as Principal of West Gate Elementary School before her appointment as an Area Associate Superintendent in July 2006. She received the Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and was Prince William County Principal of the Year in 2005.

Mrs. Lambert-Aikens received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in 1978. After receiving her master’s degree from George Mason University, Mrs. Lambert-Aikens went on to complete her certification in administration from George Mason University.

Ms. Nourse-Miller began her career in Prince William County Public Schools in 1978 as a Learning Disabilities Specialist at Bennett Elementary School. She served as Assistant Principal and Principal at Woodbine Preschool and PACE and was Principal of Featherstone Elementary School from 1985 to 1995. She became Principal of Old Bridge Elementary when it opened in 1995 until her appointment as Area Associate Superintendent in July 2000.

Ms. Nourse-Miller received the Washington Post Distinguished Educational Leadership Award and was Prince William County Principal of the Year in 1998. She graduated magna cum laude from Duke University and earned a Master of Education degree at the University of Virginia.

Catherine “Pat” Puttre was appointed Middle School Associate Superintendent in July 2008. She was a middle school teacher for 21 years before becoming Assistant Principal of Saunders Middle School in 1991. From 1997 to 2008, she served as Principal of Saunders. During that time, the school was recognized as a Model School by the International Center for Leadership in Education, a School to Watch by the National Forum for Middle School Reform, and a PWCS School of Excellence. Saunders was also cited in Breaking Ranks in the Middle by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Dr. Puttre is an adjunct instructor at Old Dominion University.

Dr. Puttre completed her bachelor’s degree in English at Queens College, City University of New York. She received her master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and her doctorate in educational leadership and policy studies from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Mr. Mulgrew assumed his position as Area IV Associate Superintendent in August 2005. He began his teaching career in 1985 as a social studies teacher at Woodbridge Senior High School. He became principal at Brentsville District High School in 1999. He had previously been an assistant principal at Gar-Field High School, his alma mater, from 1995-1999.

Under his leadership, Brentsville District High School enjoyed many successes. In 2003, BDHS was awarded the prestigious International Fellowship from the University of Cambridge (U.K.), becoming only the seventeenth centre worldwide to achieve that status. BDHS was also named a model school by the International Center for Leadership in Education in 2005. In 2004, Brentsville was named a NCLB-Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Brentsville District High School remains the only Virginia high school, either public or private, to ever achieve that status.
