NANCY GROVES SELECTED TO SERVE ON 2004 SOL REVIEW COMMITTEE Nancy Groves, math specialist and teacher at Rippon Middle School, has been selected by the Virginia Department of Education to serve on the Grade 7 Math Committee for the 2004 Standards of Learning Assessment Content Review. She will serve a one-year term beginning June 2004. As a part of this committee, Groves will review SOL assessments and examine test items and field data to make recommendations to the Department of Education. Members of the committee were nominated by the principal and supported by the school division. In addition, Groves has served on the committee to set the standards
for the new Plain English version of the Standards of Learning tests.
She has been a teacher at Rippon Middle School for thirteen years.
