STUDENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WINS PROGRAM  EVALUATION AWARD 

The Prince William County Public Schools Student Services Student Assistance Program has won the Program Research/Program Evaluation Award for exemplary research in the student assistance field.  The Student Services Student Assistance Program provides substance abuse and conflict resolution services.  The National Association of Student Assistance Professionals will be presenting the award at the National Student Assistance Conference in New Orleans, LA, on March 22, 2003. 

 The winning project involved collaboration between Student Services and George Mason University, and was funded by a grant from the Virginia Governor’s Office.  The student assistance program staff, all of whom participated in the project, include Allison Stearns, Student Assistance Program Coordinator; Lisa Riley, Student Assistance Program Secretary; and the following eight Student Assistance Program Specialists: Nan Aitel-Thompson, Susan Allen, Charlisa Becklund, Ruth Garza, Claudette Johnson, DeAnne Lewis, Debra Stallworth, and Patricia Wilson.
