 Three former fifth grade students at Neabsco Elementary School had their poems published in The Teacher’s Selection Anthology of Poetry 2002 Edition.  Kendrick Drews, son of Henry and Ellen Drew, Joseph Dixon, son of John and Denise Dixon, and Jonathan Ponce de Leon, son of Alfredo and Clara Ponce de Leon, are now sixth grade students at Godwin Middle School. 
 Neabsco Elementary School Principal Linda Trexler and Assistant Principal Suzanne Bevans received a letter from Laura Bush on official White House stationary on January 10, 2003 congratulating them on the students’ achievement.  The First Lady wrote that she is very proud of their accomplishment and hopes that all Neabsco students will have a great school year and continue to read.
