
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE N.R. #18, 7/23/04 Date: July 23, 2004 FALTZ EARNS AWARD FOR INNOVATIVE TEACHER RECRUITING PROGRAM Darlene Faltz, supervisor of recruitment and specialty programs for Prince William County Public Schools, was a finalist for the 2004 Human Resources Professional Excellence Award sponsored by the HR Leadership Awards of Greater Washington. The Human Resources Professional Excellence Award program, in its third year, honors HR executives who develop innovative programs and/or create solutions that enhance organizational efficiency, performance, or cost management with measurable results. Faltz was honored for developing and implementing an innovative recruiting and hiring process that includes a full-fledged marketing campaign, electronic applicant-tracking systems, and an online teacher interview system. The online Gallup Teacher Insight Interview identifies the best candidates faster so principals can hire faster, Faltz says. Faltz is also creating new university/college partnerships to attract highly qualified student teachers. Through the efforts of Faltz and the personnel staffing team, Prince William County Public Schools will hire 800 new teachers by the start of school on September 7. More than 67,000 students are expected to enroll in Prince William’s 80 schools this year. HR Professional Excellence Awards recognize achievement in four categories, large commercial, small commercial, government, and non-profit organizations.
