FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE N.R. #191, 3/1/04 Date: March 1, 2004 GAR-FIELD STUDENT QUALIFIES AS NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT FINALIST Gar-Field High School senior Pamela Madu, daughter
of Ralph and Florence Madu of Dumfries, has qualified as a finalist
in the National Achievement Scholarship Program. Invited to the Governor’s School for Humanities, Madu was an Ambassador for the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership and a Youth Salute Nominee. At Gar-Field High School, she received an Academic Letter and the Principal’s Award for Excellence. A High School Diplomat at Princeton University, Pamela also attended the LEAD Program for Business at Dartmouth University. She is the Student Council Association treasurer, Leo Club president, a cheerleader, Key Club member, and math tutor. A member of the prestigious choral group the Dominants, Pamela is also in the National Honor Society. She was a peer educator for the Northern Virginia AIDS Ministry and currently is the secretary for the Northern Virginia Nigerian Woman’s Club.
