Brenda Byrd, Assistant Principal at C.D. An educator for over 29 years, Byrd started her teaching career in Michigan and for the next 17 years served as a teacher, coach, assistant athletic director, and Assistant Principal with Fairfax County Public Schools.  During her tenure in Fairfax, she developed the Mobil Corporation Mentor/Partnership Program to improve the achievement and self-esteem of low-performing students.  Byrd also served on the Human Relations Committee, athletic committees, and the Minority Achievement Task Force.  In 1992, she became the Assistant Principal at C.
