BRENTSVILLE’S SALLY MARTIN IS VIRGINIA’S FBLA ADVISOR OF THE YEAR

Sally M. Graham Martin, business teacher and sponsor of the Future Business Leaders of America at Brentsville District High School since 1982, has been named Virginia’s FBLA Advisor of the Year.  She received the award at the State Leadership Conference in April and will be recognized at the National Leadership Conference in Dallas, Texas on June 28.  Martin previously received this award in 2000.

A teacher and advisor for twenty-five years, Martin serves as Brentsville’s Partnership Coordinator with area businesses, and was a finalist for Prince William County Teacher of the Year and the Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award in 2001.  She serves as FBLA Germanna Regional Director and has presented at FBLA workshops at the regional, state and national level.  She was a recipient of the Virginia business Education Association’s “Great Ideas” award in 1999.

According to one of her students, “Perhaps the most important thing I have learned from Mrs. Martin are the values I will leave with.  She has taught me above all to be honest, and that I will never forget.  Under her, I have learned that without honesty you will go nowhere in the business world, or life.  Also, I have learned the worth of responsibility, integrity and hard work.  These core values have carried me through high school and will carry me in to the future.”
