 GRAHAM PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT IS BEST IN SCIENCE FAIR SHOW

Matt Harmon, a sixth grader at Graham Park Middle School, placed Best in Show at the 2002-2003 Prince William-Manassas Regional Science Fair held on May 3 at Metz Junior High School in Manassas.  Matt placed first in the Zoology category for his project, Color Recognition in Dogs.

Prince William County students placed first in all but one category.  The winners are: Behavioral Science, Jason Haurie, Parkside Middle Elementary School, Black, White, and Tastes Just Right; Botany, Alex Ratcliff, Bull Run Middle School, The Effect of Four Different Soil Types on the Growth of Bean Plants; Chemistry, Joshua Pankey, Stonewall Middle School, Which Type of Oil Makes the Best Lava Lamp?; Computer Science, Collin Thornton, Belmont Elementary School, Spheres of Influence; Earth and Space Science, Bryan Stoutenburgh, Henderson Elementary, Is Weather Forecasting Accurate or Not?; Environmental Science, Erin McNamara, Parkside Middle School, Toxic Tobacco; Medicine and Health, Olivia Howard, Westridge Elementary School; Controlling Radiant Energy; Physics, Eric Czarnowsky, Graham Park Middle School, Hot Wire, Cold Wire; and Zoology, Matt Harmon, Graham Park Middle School, Color Recognition in Dogs.
