EMPLOYEES RECOGNIZED FOR EXCELLENCE Thirty-three individual Prince William County Public School employees, one department, two schools, and six teams of employees will be recognized by the School Board at the sixth annual Staff Recognition Awards ceremony on Monday, June 2 at 7:00 p.m. at Forest Park High School. The purpose of the awards is to recognize and promote excellence in the school division. The awards are presented in three categories: Courage, awarded to an individual who has performed well despite overcoming a major obstacle or for his or her heroic action; Achievement, awarded for a specific accomplishment; and Performance, awarded to employees, teams, departments, or schools for outstanding performance over a period of time. The Courage Award will be presented to Elizabeth Borland, Westridge Elementary School; Jan McCarren, Rippon Middle School; Cindy Morrell, Potomac Senior High School; Erin VanGorder, Hylton Senior High School; Phillip Wells, Mountain View Elementary School; and Daisy Williams, Minnieville Elementary School. Julie Hicks, Woodbridge Senior High School and Tiffany Villanueva, Curriculum and Staff Development will receive the Achievement Award. Individual Performance Awards will be given to Mary Ann Bloom, Bennett Elementary School; Dennis Brown, Hylton Senior High School; Dolly Brunk, Benton Middle School; Donald Burke, Transportation; Bill Cameron, Brentsville District High School; Iris Combs, Marshall Elementary School; Nancy Costa, Beville Middle School; Susan Danielson, Minnieville Elementary School; Nancy Dunigan, Mountain View Elementary School; Christine Dunn, Neabsco Elementary School; Deborah Floris, Hylton Senior High School; Michael Friedman, Special Education; and Ramona Hauptman, Mountain View Elementary School. Also receiving the Individual Performance Awards are Alvin Howard, Potomac Senior High School; Horace Jefferson, Woodbridge Middle School; Tate Kenneally, Brentsville District High School; Kathy Leggett, Springwoods Elementary School; Debbie Miller, Montclair Elementary School; Julia Cremo Muse, New Dominion Alternative School; Jennifer Rhawn, Brentsville District High School; Aileen Scharl, Hylton Senior High School; Sharon Smith, Neabsco Elementary School; Nancy Van Maenen, West Gate Elementary School; Patricia Vance, Transportation; and Ron Whitten, King Elementary School. Teams and departments receiving the Outstanding Performance Awards are the King Elementary ESOL Team, Featherstone Elementary School Culture Club, Transportation Department Special Needs Team, Curriculum and Staff Development Instructional Support Team, Marshall Elementary School Autism Team, Organizational Staff Development Team, and Hylton Senior High School Mathematics Department. Graham Park Middle School and Westridge Elementary School will receive the School Performance Award. ### |
