Prince William County Public Schools’ Adult Education Office has received a grant for $15,000 from the Virginia Department of Education for the “Race to GED” initiative, a Virginia Department of Education initiative to help adults raise their educational level. This is the second grant received from the Virginia Department of Education for this initiative. The initial grant in the amount of $25,000 was awarded during the last fiscal year. Having successfully completed
the pilot site phase of the grant, Prince William County is now mentoring
two of the newly added sites in Fairfax and Spotsylvania counties. Bette
Sneed, Coordinator of Adult Education for Prince William County Public
Schools, developed the grant proposal.
