Celebrations for School of Excellence Awards
Congratulations to the 25 schools named Schools of Excellence in 2007-08
for achievements in the 2006-07 school year.
To earn the title of “School of Excellence,” schools must demonstrate high levels of performance for two different groups of students, those beginning the school year on grade level and those beginning the school year below grade level; make adequate yearly progress (AYP); be fully accredited by the state; and achieve an overall score of 90 out of 100 points on Division Strategic Plan-based measures. Strategic Plan measures cover student achievement, student health, and school climate. Awards are based on achievement during the prior school year, 2006-07.
Governor Tim Kaine congratulates representatives from three Prince William County Schools, Westridge, Henderson and Mountain View as Schools of Excellence.
