2001-2002 School of Excellence

Bennett Elementary School received the School of Excellence Award for the second year at a celebration for all school staff members.

Ms. Sharon Fogarty, Principal of Bennett Elementary School, and Mr. Kris Pedersen, Associate Superintendent, present awards to staff members.

Ms. Fogarty accepted a School of Excellence commemorative flag on behalf of Bennett Elementary at a school board awards ceremony. 

Some of the reasons Bennett Elementary was selected as a School of Excellence are:

• Bennett’s staff members believe that children will do well as students and establishes the foundations that make them good citizens.

• Their strategies for success include collegial planning, curriculum mapping, staff development, use of performance data, parent support, assistance of Instructional Support Team members, use of volunteers for remediation as well as acceleration, and, in general, a pervasive focus of time-on-task and good old fashioned hard work.

The Bennett Elementary School community lives by their motto: “Building Our Tomorrows Together”.
