2001-2002 School of Excellence

At a celebration for all school employees Marshall Elementary School received the School of Excellence Award for the second year.

Ms. Janet Greer, Principal of Marshall Elementary School, accepted awards from Associate Superintendent Mr. Kris Pedersen (left), Dr. Edward L. Kelly, and School Board Member Mr. William Hundley.

 

Ms. Greer accepted a School of Excellence commemorative flag on behalf of Marshall Elementary at a school board awards ceremony. 

Some of the reasons Marshall Elementary was selected as a School of Excellence are:

• Remediation programs include reading recovery, reading intervention, accelerated math, volunteer tutors, peer tutors, buddy readers, and SOL remediation.

• The professionalism and expertise of its incredible classroom teachers and support staff make Marshall Elementary a successful school.

• Parent participation and support in a school-home partnership have been critical to Marshall Elementary’s success.
