Part I:  Tree/Shrub

Names of tree/bush (English common, scientific, Japanese common)  

Type of tree (deciduous / evergreen)

Native to Virginia (yes or no)

Where the plant is commonly found

Growing season

Include picture of tree

Part II:  Leaf

Leaf type (simple or compound)

Leaf growth (opposite or alternate)

Leaf characteristics (color, shape, size, toothed or entire)

Other characteristics, if any (color underneath, whether furry underneath, etc.)

Include picture of leaf

Part III:  Blossoms/Fruits/Cones

Description of blossoms, fruits, cones (color, shape, size, etc.)

Time when blossoms, fruits, cones appear and/or open

Include picture of blossoms/fruits/cones

Part IV:  Additional Information of interest

Section where students may write additional facts of interest
