Adult education offers English and GED preparation classes; registration for classes begins September 5

Has it been a long time since you entered a classroom? Need some help preparing for the General Educational Development Test (GED Test) or learning to speak English? Come study with adults like you to achieve your career and life goals. PWCS adult education classes begin the week of September 24 for residents of Prince William County, Manassas City, and Manassas Park. Classes are scheduled for three or four evenings a week at different locations around the county. Some classes are held during the day. Registration begins Wednesday, September 5. 

  • Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes are for individuals 18 years of age and older and whose basic reading, math, and/or writing skills are below the ninth grade level of achievement. 
  • GED preparation classes are for individuals 18 years of age and older with reading, math, and/or writing skills at the ninth grade level or above.
  • English language learning classes are for individuals 18 years of age and older who speak a native language other than English.

Allow approximately two hours for registration of Adult Basic Education and GED preparation. Allow approximately 30–60 minutes to register for English language learning. A tuition fee of $170 is due at the time of registration by cash, cashier’s check, or money order only. Class sessions provide 90 hours of classroom instruction.
