Dr. Walts with the Woodbride Middle robotics teamSuperintendent of Schools Dr. Steve Walts responded to a Tweet from two students from Woodbridge Middle School (WMS) who said that their VEX robotics team did not have t-shirts for their teams. Dr. Walts jumped on the request, with SPARK, the education foundation for PWCS, sponsoring the costs of the t-shirts. A WMS teacher designed the logo, and students from Colgan High School screen printed the t-shirts as part of their CTE class.

March 24-30 is Kindness Matters Week in PWCS, which marked the perfect time for Dr. Walts to present 20 t-shirts to the team and personally meet the two robotics students who originally sent him this request. WMS robotics team competed in several competitions this year with their first-year coach, Michael Cummings. At Bull Run Middle School VEX Competition, the all-girls team from WMS came in fifth out of 50 teams. They are all very excited for next year's robotics season in their new t-shirts.
